My name is Robin Mavis. I've been involved in the Wiccan and Pagan communities regularly for a year now. I'm also a community organizer in my own school district for equal rights for the GLBT community as an ally. I've been asked by Minnesotans United For All Families to be the coordinator for organizing the Pagan and Wiccan faith community to come together and defeat the proposed marriage amendment that will be on our state's ballot November 2012. I understand most covens, lodges, circles and organized groups do not involve themselves politically, but I was wondering if you would be willing to pass on information to your members on how they can contact me if they are interested in joining this effort as individuals. Of course, if your group would be willing to make a formal statement, that would be awesome too! Many congregations of faith are doing so and it would not jeapordize your IRS standing as a non-profit. Religious organizations are allowed to take public positions on ballot issues such as marriage, reproductive rights, etc. They are only restricted from campagning or endorsing individual candidates for political office. We would like to say, "Thank You!"...to everyone who has supported us these past 17 years...Your words, and deeds have not gone unnoticed. "Thank You"...to our members, students, and teachers for making this a most memorable year. Lodge Yggdrasill is also very pleased to announce that its name, "Lodge Yggdrasill" is a registered trademark of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, under the religious organizations category; and is accepted and recognized internationally. For this, we would like to thank three of our former members and their rogue students for trying to steal our name and our identity within the greater Pagan Community; all the way to the United States Government...Without you, we never would have had to have gone through all of this. So, "thank you" you guys! Thank you for the slander. Thank you for the defamation of character. Thank you for the lies. Thank you for the threats. Thank you for all of the malice and the ill will you could muster amongst yourselves...for we received the most well deserved rewards...VICTORY!!! & HONOR!!! Lastly, some clarification to Our Greater Community: Our "Lodge Kindreds" list is very clear, and current. If a Lodge Yggdrasill Kindred location is not present, it simply does not exist. There are no other Kindreds, other than the ones listed on this website. We hope that this clears up any future questions or misguided gestures by others, in the future. Your Mother Earth needs a little attention, and we need YOU! UMPA Adopt A Highway Cleanup will take place, at our new location, Sat. October 8th, 2011, 1pm on I 35E, Hugo, MN. This may sound remote, but it is 23 miles from the SPC, about the same distance as our previous location near Anoka. This site is a beautiful, natural area of farm fields, wetlands, and some wooded areas. If you can only spend a few hours, come early to get your supplies! With 20 people, four teams of five, we should be able to complete the spring cleanup in just a few hours! If your group wants to participate as a team, Please CONTACT UMPA. * RAIN DATE: Sunday Oct. 9th 1pm UMPA has contracted with the Minnesota Highway Department to maintain litter cleanup on a 2.0 mile section of I35E, just south of the junction with I35W near Hugo. This is a highly traveled four lane divided stretch between Anoka County Road 14 (Main St Hugo) and 80th ST E. * note this exit is under construction renovation). It can be reached heading north on either 35W or E, exiting Centerville Main and heading East(from I35W) or Exiting Hugo Main, (Co Road 14, I 35E, and finding the Central Bank, on the NW corner of that exit. We will be gathering at The Central Bank, at 10 am ...hit the Highway by 1pm click the link to explore a satelitte photo of the area. We will split into teams and carpool some to 80th St., and any who want to offer off Highway support will prepare sandwiches and deliver water UMPA will provide. We will have blaze green safety vests, garbage bags, and instructions! Bring work gloves, a pick up tool (broom handle with nail in end), water, tick repellant, and sturdy shoes!
