A Stone Elixir Ritual-
By: Bress G. Nicneven 2261 R.E.
A Stone Elixir is a great way to facilitate wanted outcomes for the practitioner, in a ritualistic manner that promotes manifestations of healing in an ancient practiced art. It is the art of alchemy in its simplest form, which brings one closer to his/her roots with the Magi of traditional lore. Creating a stone elixir for healing is not as difficult as many practitioners in the past have been led to believe. All it requires is a little time, a little patience, and the intent to heal ones-self and/or to heal others.
First, decide what stone(s) contain the properties you desire for facilitating the necessary healing. I suggest using only “cleansed” raw stones, as polished stones are….well, they’re polished! Washing your stone(s) is very important. This may be done in a three step process:
Wash with soap and tap water (and possibly a medium-bristled brush) thoroughly, and rinse.
Let stone(s) stand and soak in a water-salt mixture for 45 minutes.
While still in their water-salt mixture, boil your stones for 3 minutes, let them cool, and air dry.
Once your selected stone(s) has been chosen, you will need to collect an adequate amount of spring water, rain water, melted snow, dew water, or the like. Water which has been processed with chemicals or additives, or has been contained in plastic, is not suitable. If you’re not sure about your water source’s purity before using…Boil it!
Obtaining bottles for creating your elixir in will be your most painstaking task. Your bottles need to be made of brown or blue glass, and an abundance of corks are always a must! Because of its application and process, I have found that jars work best. [Your cheapest and best bet for finding the darkest glass bottles/jars needed may be found at rummage sales, flea markets, and/or antique stores.]
Another necessity is alcohol…80 to 100 proof should be sufficient. What alcohol you will use is up to you. The alcohol helps to open the stone’s pores, and to keep microbes from growing in your elixir. [You may substitute vinegar for alcohol, however, it is not as expedient as alcohol is in this process.]
Place your chosen stone(s) into the bottle, and add your collected (and possibly boiled) water to approximately 3/4 full. Now, add your alcohol [vinegar] the rest of the way, approximately 1/4. Allow your elixir to breathe, and stand for three hours before corking. Place your cork into the bottle.
Place your bottle in a safe cool dark place (refrigerator) for three days, and three nights; gently flipping your bottle over and back every eight hours. Now your elixir is ready to use.
Elixir Augmentation:
If you desire to augment your elixir further, you may choose to charge your elixir by: Sunlight / Moonlight / Firelight / Candlelight / Ritual. To do this, in the time that you would normally let your elixir breathe and stand, charge your elixir by any of the means listed above. Then, follow the rest of the steps to curing your elixir for three days, and three nights.
Your elixir may be used in a number of applications, such as: Applying the elixir to the skin of the afflicted area / Adding 5 – 7 drops of the elixir into your bath / Adding a few drops of the elixir into your massage oil(s) / And even adding a few drops of the elixir to your favorite tea – creating a potent infusion of both herb(s) and stone(s).
It is important to remember, that in perfecting this process of creation and application of your elixir; that more is not always better. Use your newly created elixir sparingly, as it is a very powerful substance, and thus a great amount is not needed.
The Nine Rules to Stone Elixir Making:
1.) Always remember to wash your selected stones and bottles thoroughly. (Soap / Salt / Boil)
2.) When not in use, store your elixir in a cool dark place (ex. – refrigerator).
3.) Do not keep your elixir for more than three months...it will loose its potency, and will turn sour.
4.) All left over elixirs and stones used should be returned to the earth at the New Moon cycle.
5.) Never reuse stones or elixirs made, in the creation of a new elixir.
6.) Never reuse corks from one elixir to another. (Replace with new corks between batches.)
7.) Stay away from most metallic-based stones, coral, amber, and fully formed geodes, unless you are absolutely informed about what you are doing. (When in doubt, leave it alone.)
8.) Record your individual findings, for future reference, and pass them on to someone you love.
9.) Have Fun!!! Anything created with positive and wanted energy never goes to waste!
